2025 Harroways Handicap Betting Tips
There’s a spate of horses operating at similar odds to win the Harroways Handicap, with Best Rate hoping to land a victory at Goodwood. There was a smart performance at York in the middle of May in a seven-furlong handicap, with the horse finishing second on that occasion. This came after finishing fourth at Newmarket out of eight runners over a mile.
Rare Change has been able to score successive wins this season and has to be respected on that form. Richard Hughes saw his charge claim a seven furlong success at the Knavesmire when achieving a slender success against Best Rate. That came after a previous triumph at Windsor over six furlongs and the bookies offer an attractive each-way price.
Stanhope Gardens is the top-weighted horse in the field and carries 9-10 which may be something of a burden in this Goodwood encounter. There was only a neck stopping him from winning Group 3 Emirates Autumn Stakes at Newmarket back in October, with that coming after claiming an August success over seven and a half furlongs.
Bob Mali has had a couple of outings this term. Charles Hills saw his three-year-old finish fourth out of eleven runners at Chester in a previous encounter. Sent off as the 6/5 favourite, the horse ended up seven and a half lengths off the pace. However, that came after an impressive showing at Newmarket when finishing second out of ten.

There are so many horses in with a lively chance of victory when it comes to the William Hill Harroways Handicap, with Tafreej having finished third in his first outing of the season. The three-year-old ran in the Dubai Duty Free Full of Surprises Handicap when being sent off as the 2/1 favourite, although the William Haggas-trained runner was unable to oblige.
Previously to this run, there was a victory at Yarmouth Racecourse last October although there are plenty of other runners to consider at bigger prices and this includes City Of Kings. Charlie Appleby saw his charge finish well down the order at Newmarket on his most recent outing and that was partly down to being too lively before the race had even started.
Bresson is well-raced and has to stand an each-way chance, with John & Thady Gosden saddling a horse who finished midfield at Doncaster last time out. In the Carlsberg Marstons Doncaster Stakes, the runner seemed to struggle with the heavy ground over six furlongs, although there was previously a brighter performance at Salisbury.
Yacowlef was the winner of his previous race when claiming a victory at Newmarket on 6 May, with the horse narrowly edging out favourite Striking Star, with the horse originally finishing second in the bet365 Handicap on 20 April at the same race track and we think this is a better each-way selection than the others at the head of the market.
