2025 Haydock Silver Bowl Betting Tips
Fort George could be the pick of the three-year-olds when it comes to the Betfred Silver Bowl Handicap. Ed Walker trains a runner who was able to score at Newmarket at the beginning of May, with a one-length success being achieved over a mile. This came after a series of promising performances on the all-weather and there could be more to come.
Jolly Roger runs for Simon & Ed Crisford, with the latest effort seeing the horse well down the pecking order at York. In a field of fourteen runners, the charge could only manage tenth, with that coming after finishing third out of twelve on the all-weather at Wolves. There was a success at Kempton back in December and we have to respect the horse’s chances.
King Casper has won two of his previous three outings and the latest of these came at Newmarket in the middle of April. Sent off as a 14/1 chance, the horse was able to score by three lengths in a one-mile handicap at Newmarket. There was also a victory at Haydock back in August where the runner obliged over seven furlongs.
Teroomm has collected successive wins for Roger Varian this season, with the horse last seen triumphing at Thirsk towards the end of April. The 5/6 favourite was able to oblige by nearly a length, with the horse previously scoring at Bath although this is a step up for the runner. Cavolo Nero was in the winners enclosure last time and merits respect.
2023 Betfred Silver Bowl Handicap Tips
We’re looking forward to the 2023 Betfred Silver Bowl Handicap and seeing which horses benefit most from the drying ground at Haydock Park. The conditions have dramatically changed in the past couple of weeks which will suit certain horses and Covey is among them. The John & Thady Gosden-trained runner has a solid rating and has claimed back to back successes.
There was a victory at Newmarket when winning the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs on 18 April, with a straightforward success then occurring at Newcastle in an uncompetitive race, although some will prefer the chances of Local Dynasty and the Charlie Appleby-trained runner has plenty in his favour.
At Chester on 11 May, the horse ran fairly well to finish third in a field of six runners. Sent off at odds of 5/2 in the Boodles Dee Stakes, the horse wasn’t able to reel in the front two over one mile, two and a half furlongs although the soft ground might not have been to his liking and perhaps conditions at Haydock will be better for this charge.
Gincident has been in the winners’ enclosure on more than one occasion this year, with the Richard Fahey-trained runner having claimed a victory at Musselburgh in a three-year-old mile handicap over one mile, with the horse having finished second in the Royal Mile Handicap at the same track and that was over one mile on good to soft ground.
