2025 bet365 Handicap Chase Tips
Martator has shone brightly this season, with the latest effort being third out of seven at Kempton Park in December. Sent off as the 2/1 favourite, the horse couldn’t match the performance of Soul Icon, although this effort was preceded by consecutive successes at Ascot and it might be that this is the horse to beat.
Kotmask has been progressively improving as the campaign has worn on. The runner was third to Martator at Ascot in November before finishing well behind the same horse at the same track in the next outing. However, there was a success at the same track when obliging over two miles and three furlongs which was a longer trip.
Scarface has enjoyed back to back runner-up spots and Joe Tizzard will be hoping his horse is now able to emerge with a victory. However, the eight-year-old hasn’t tasted a victory in five races and some might instead look to side with this runner from an each-way perspective, with the horse finishing behind Kotmask at Ascot last time out.
Bad has actually been pretty good this term despite not winning a race. There have been two second places for a six-year-old who was most recently runner-up at Southwell Racecourse when finishing sixth lengths behind eventual winner Margaret’s Legacy, although it’s been a long time since we saw the horse won.
2023 Bet365 Handicap Chase Tips
Ga Law heads the betting market to win the 2023 Bet365 Handicap Chase and perhaps a repeat of his performance at Cheltenham last November might be enough to land a victory for trainer Jamie Snowden. On that occasion, the horse triumphed by two miles and four furlongs and we should see a respectable showing from a runner who is capable of making further progress in his career.
Phoenix Way finished fourth on his last outing and the ten-year-old ran a solid race at Chepstow, with the horse performing well over two miles, three-and-a-half furlongs and this could be another each-way contender. Let’s not forget that this runner was the winner of this race last season and has the course and distance.
Fanion D’Estruval was second on that occasion and can’t be ruled out of the race, with Venetia Williams having a lively contender who was third in the recent William Hill Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase. There was also a respectable performance in the Ryanair Chase last March and this has to be one for the shortlist.
Danny Kirwan is probably one to consider at a bigger price. Back to back second-placed finishes have recently occurred and the latest showing at Ascot Racecourse, with the horse finishing second behind Our Power in the Bateaux London Gold Cup Handicap Chase over three miles. Back in March, the horse landed a victory in the Soil Science Handicap Chase.
