2024 Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle Betting Odds at Ascot racecourse

Saturday, 21 December 2024

There could be as many as fifteen runners lining up in the Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle, with this one mile, seven and a half furlong encounter taking place on Saturday 21 December. Be Aware has been knocking on the door in the past few races and will be looking to cast off the bridesmaid tag to land a victory in this race.

However, there could be better value alternatives in the race including Dysart Enos who enjoyed a string of wins last season before running into third on his seasonal debut. There should also be a strong showing from Kabral Du Mathan who has been in the winning habit recently, with Secret Squirrel the other horse trading at single figure odds.

2024 Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle Tips

The Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle is going to be an interesting affair, with Be Aware among the favourites to win this race over two miles. The horse has been runner-up in four consecutive encounters, with the latest effort coming at Cheltenham in mid-November when finishing second in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.

Dysart Enos was sent off as favourite in that particular race before falling short, with the horse finishing three and a half lengths off the pace, although that came after six successive victories. There was a success at Doncaster at the end of January, with that coming after a triumph at Cheltenham in the middle of December.

There could be more to come from Kabral Du Mathan and the four-year-old has scope for improvement, having landed a succession of victories for Paul Nicholls thus far. There’s been money for a charge who was able to triumph as the even money favourite at the end of November when obliging by nearly five lengths.

Secret Squirrel has claims and the Hughie Morrison-trained runner was able to secure third in a competitive race at Ascot last time out. The runner was three and a half lengths off the pace in the Lavazza Handicap Hurdle although he wasn’t able to find extra gears on that occasion and that came after finishing fifth out of a field of twenty at Sandown.
