2023 Cheltenham Handicap Chase Tips
Haddex Des Obeaux is a talented six-year-old who will be hoping to quickly rediscover the form of last season. It’s been nearly a year since the Gary Moore-trained charge was able to succeed, with the horse obliging at Warwick Racecourse when winning a handicap chase by a massive nineteen lengths. However, it’s always hard to assess horses after a long lay-off.
Red Rookie is also among the leading contenders and the horse ran the most recently in May, with Amy Murphy saddling a runner who finished well behind the front two in the Racing TV Handicap Chase at Kempton Park despite being sent off as the 9/4 favourite. This came after a win at Warwick on 30 March.
Guy has the advantage of already running on two occasions this season and they have both resulted in a victory. Nigel Twiston-Davies saw his charge most recently land the spoils when being sent off as the 10/11 favourite in the National Hunt Appreciation Handicap Chase, with a previous success happening at Ludlow and he could be a good each-way shout.
Triple Trade scored twice in April when obliging at Wincanton and Kempton, with the former success coming when the 5/2 favourite was able to succeed over two miles and four furlongs. Then came a handicap chase success over two miles and two furlongs, with this runner looking capable of having the requisite stamina to oblige here.
