2023 Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase Tips
Delta Work has already delivered over course and distance, with the Gordon Elliott-trained runner looking like the one to beat in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase. The ten-year-old knows his way around the various obstacles that comprise this long distance track, with the horse likely to come on from a seasonal debut at Punchestown.
On that occasion, Minella Indo demonstrated bags of class to claim a victory, although a third-placed finish was solid enough and there was no shame in being outpaced over three miles on yielding ground. It was good for the horse to run again following the unseating of a rider in the Aintree Grand National and the same thing happened to Galvin.
There was little between Delta Work and Galvin when it came to the Cross Country back in March, with the pair finishing miles clear of the pack and the same thing could happen here. It might be worth considering the reverse forecast, although Back On The Lash has been installed among the front runners despite a series of poor performances.
Since winning the Cross Country at Cheltenham in January, there has been three consecutive failures to win a race, with the latest effort being at Exeter where the horse struggled over three miles. Latenightpass has a fourth-placed showing in the Foxhunters to his name and that could set up a tilt when it comes to this race.
