2024 Saltney Handicap Betting Odds at Chester racecourse

Wednesday, 08 May 2024

There is a field of nine runners lining up for the Saddle-Up For More Than Racing Handicap and the majority are trading at single figure betting odds. Kings Merchant runs for Edward Bethell and the horse looks favourably weighted for an encounter at the Roodee, with money having come for this runner.

Due For Luck has yet to run this season and the John & Sean Quinn-trained runner has previously run well enough to suggest a decent challenge is on the cards. Vince L’Amour comes into the race off the back of successive wins and perhaps the Tim Easterby-trained runner is worthy of consideration here.

2024 More Than Racing Handicap Tips

Kings Merchant has a strong chance of landing a success at Chester on Wednesday according to the latest betting odds. The horse was last seen triumphing at Wolverhampton at the end of March when fending off three other rivals, with the odds-on favourite fending off the challenge of Miss Anya on that occasion.

Due For Luck is carrying a good deal more weight although some of the previous performances suggests that the horse has a lively chance here. This includes a second-placed finish at Chester Racecourse in September when being narrowly beaten, although that was followed by disappointing showings at Haydock and Newcastle.

Vince L’Amour has bagged successive victories in his past two encounters and the latest of these came at Catterick when winning over five furlongs. Sent off as the 8/13 favourite, the horse was able to oblige on soft ground and that came after a previous success at Ripon where the runner landed a success over six furlongs on heavy ground.

Blue Storm was the winner of his last race at Southwell Racecourse when beating seven other contenders, with the two-year-old producing a strong performance over five furlongs. The horse was previously third in a handicap over five furlongs at Wolverhampton and there is also mentions for Dandy Devil and Moonstone Boy.
