Kalypso'chance is set to go off favourite in this bumper race at the Dublin Racing Festival and there’s so much to like about the Gordon Elliott-trained charge based on early performances. While all horses are green right now, there was an eye-catching success at Navan in mid-December when obliging by four and a half lengths.
This came after a win at Punchestown in November, with stablemate He Can’t Dance also among the favourites and he’s available at a much bigger each-way price. A victory was achieved at Navan at the beginning of December, while there’s another Elliott horse in the form of Classical Creek was third last time out.
However, all of these runners are lightly raced and perhaps Green Splendour can come to the fore in this race. Willie Mullins has plenty of experience when it comes to training bumper winners and he might have one for the future here. The five-year-old was a facile winner when previously lining up in Ireland.
There are lots of horses with a lively chance of recording a success and perhaps there could be mileage in backing Heads Up who has more experience than most horses in the field. This runner goes for trainer John C McConnell and the five-year-old has been running in esteemed company over the past few races.
