2025 BetVictor Handicap Chase Tips
Bucksy Des Epeires was last in a previous showing, although the Venetia Williams-trained charge is among the favourites when it comes to the BetVictor Handicap Chase. The six-year-old was underwhelming at Leicester, although there was a solid display at Doncaster in December when finishing second out of nine runners.
Heltenham has yet to land a victory this season, with Dan Skelton hoping that there’s improvement from an eight-year-old who was pulled up at Kempton last month. Previously to this, the horse was second last in a race at Aintree in December, with the horse among the top weights which could mean this is a difficult assignment.
Saint Segal looks a more backable type based on form, with Jane Williams saddling a horse who was third out of fourteen runners at Newbury Racecourse. That outing was at the beginning of March, with that coming after a second-placed finish at Musselburgh the previous month. There was also a success at Newbury in December where five other charges were fended off.
King’s Threshold ticks plenty of boxes, with Emma Lavelle saddling a runner who was able to land back to back successes coming into this race. The horse looks favourably handicapped, with the latest success coming at Warwick where seven other runners were beaten. That came after a win at Huntingdon and four other horses were dismissed then.
