2024 Great St Wilfrid Handicap Betting Odds at Ripon racecourse

Saturday, 17 August 2024

There are several runners trading at similar prices to win the 2024 Great St Wilfrid Handicap, with this Class 2 encounter taking place over six furlongs. Summerghand has struggled to make an impression in the past two races, although the David O’Meara-trained charge has previously performed well and the same can be said of Korker.

The Karl Burke-trained five-year-old was second last time out, with Dare To Hope also going for Richard Fahey, while Kitai looks a viable each-way price after claiming a victory last time out. Manila Scouse was also successful in a previous race and Ramazan has the potential to run into a place and looks like each-way value.

2024 Great St Wilfrid Handicap Tips

Summerghand is a ten-year-old who has run plenty of times and is among the favourites for the Great St Wilfrid Handicap, with the latest outing coming at Goodwood where the runner finished midfield in the Stewards’ Cup after a lowly finish in the International Stakes at Ascot, although there was a third-placed effort in the Bunbury Cup.

Korker was a runner-up last time out and that came in a field of fourteen runners, with this coming in the Sky Bet Dash at York Racecourse. This came after finishing fourth in a field of seven at the Knavesmire, with the horse having come right down the pecking order in the Rockingham Handicap at the Curragh.

Dare To Hope has a solid chance of success and Richard Fahey trains a four-year-old who has yet to land a victory this season. The horse finished tenth out of twenty-five runners at Goodwood in August, with a decent outing coming in the Stewards’ Cup. Previously to this came a fourth-placed finish in the Sky Bet Dash Handicap.

Kitai and Manila Scouse were able to land a victory in their previous outings, with the former running for Michael Appleby and there was a triumph at Goodwood at the end of July. This came after a sixth-placed finish out of ten runners at Newmarket, with Manila Scouse having claimed the spoil at Chepstow last time out.
