2024 Finale Handicap Tips
There’s an interesting three-year-old encounter taking place in the form of the William Hill Finale Handicap, with Master Builder potentially the one to beat. The horse was able to secure a victory against nine other runners at Haydock Park in early September, obliging over one mile and six furlongs and landing a two length success.
The Reverend was able to land a victory when scoring at Ascot last month, fending off eight rivals to land a three-length win. Over one mile and four furlongs on soft ground, the William Haggas-trained runner performed well and that came after consecutive runner-up performances which suggests a place is likely.
Hutchence has landed a victory in three of the previous four outings, with the three-year-old having recently secured a win at Ascot in early October. That was a four length success and that came after finishing third to Master Builder at Haydock, with the horse previously getting past the line first over one mile and four furlongs at Newbury.
Minstrel Knight has landed two wins from his previous four outings, with a victory coming at Haydock at the end of September, with the horse securing a success by five lengths and a repeat performance should see him go close. Fairy Glen was last seen finishing second out of eleven horses at Longchamp in early September.
2023 York Finale Handicap Tips
The William Hill Finale Handicap will feature as many as twenty runners battling it out at York Racecourse, with Shadow Dance among the horses who are competing. The three-year-old has been competitive all season and claimed a win at Haydock Park in early September when winning over one mile, three and a half furlongs.
Urban Outlook has similarly solid credentials, with the horse landing a victory at Chester before following this up with a win at Haydock Park. The latter of these came over one mile and six furlongs, with Andrew Balding saddling this runner to a win in a handicap race at the Roodee and it’s interesting to note that Dreams Adozen was second in that race.
Indeed, the latter was only beaten by a head and the Charlie Johnston-trained runner has finished first or second in the past six races. A win at Chester was achieved by over fifteen lengths and she was really impressive on heavy ground. Perhaps it will be harder on drying turf and Spectacular Style could be the one to beat instead.
Roger Varian has another leading contender in the form of this three-year-old, with the horse underwhelming over one mile and four furlongs last time out at Newmarket. However, there was a Novice Stakes win at Hamilton and we might also consider Kardia who runs for trainer Edward Bethell after some encouraging performances this term.
