2024 Symphony Group Handicap Betting Odds at York racecourse

Wednesday, 21 August 2024

Pilgrim has landed consecutive wins coming into the Symphony Group Handicap, with the David & Nicola Barron-trained runner having secured some impressive victories. However, the betting odds suggest a wide open encounter and Shagraan could be able to secure a solid finish after being first past the post last time out.

Holkham Bay was able to claim back to back victories and the William Knight-trained runner could be another one for the shortlist, with the four-year-old having the ability to go close. Jm Jungle could make an impact at a decent price, while Democracy Dilemma and Silky Wilkie have both ran plenty of times this season.

2024 Symphony Group Handicap Tips

The Symphony Group Handicap is a contest over five and a half furlongs, with York Racecourse hosting a race which features twenty-two runners. Pilgrim has been able to rack up a couple of victories and the three-year-old was able to oblige at Royal Ascot in the Palace of Holyrood House Stakes, with the 18/1 shot winning by half a length.

Shagraan was a winner last time out and the Michael Appleby-trained runner was able to score at Goodwood at the beginning of August, with the 7/2 joint-favourite getting the job done over five furlongs and there was a fifth-placed finish in the Palace of Holyrood House Stakes although the horse doesn’t have a particularly strong win rate.

There was a fine performance from Holkham Bay last time out when landing the spoils in the Shergar Cup Dash at Ascot, with this coming after a success at York. The 11/2 shot was able to score over six furlongs in a competitive field and there could be more to come from a runner who is bidding for a consecutive hat-trick of successes.

Jm Jungle has failed to land a win for the past few outings, although the four-year-old has put up some stout performances and that includes a fifth-placed finish in the Coral Racing Club Handicap. Democracy Dilemma was able to finish third in the John Smith’s City Walls Stakes and there was plenty to like about his runner-up display at Epsom.
