2023 Britannia Stakes Tips
Ziryab could be the one to back when it comes to the 2023 Britannia Stakes, with the John & Thady Gosden-trained runner having earned a victory on his last outing. A win at Leicester was fairly strong, with the 6/4 shot recording a two length success against favourite Theatre Honours, with this being an impressive showing which suggests there is more to come.
Canute represents Aidan O’Brien’s best chance of success in this race and the three-year-old was also successful last time out. This was a victory at Navan against nine other runners, with the 10/11 favourite winning the Royal County Handicap. This came after a fourth-placed success in the Finlay Volvo Handicap by finishing in the frame out of a big field.
Docklands has secured two successive wins and Harry Eustace will now consider this runner as one of his best chances of recording a Royal Ascot victory this summer. The horse will return to Ascot after previously landing a win in a one mile handicap in early May, with that coming after obliging as odds-on favourite in the Maiden Stakes at Kempton.
Farnborough has yet to taste success during his career although there have been runner-up showings at Leopardstown and Cork this season, with the latest race seeing the horse sent off as the 11/4 favourite in a race which also included Canute. However, the former was only able to finish sixth on that occasion and might find one or two too good.
