2024 Chesham Stakes Tips
Aidan O’Brien regularly trains horses that are near the head of the betting market and this certainly applies to Bedtime Story who is favourite for the Chesham Stakes. Running at Leopardstown at the beginning of June, the 5/1 shot obliged against either other horses and there was plenty to like about a success by over a length.
The horse beaten into second on that occasion was Giselle, with the latter having been sent off as the 8/11 favourite. Perhaps the two-year-old will be able to frank the form this time around, with Ryan Moore potentially taking the ride on another O’Brien-trained runner, with that previous race coming over seven and a half furlongs.
Age Of Gold has the potential to run a big race and the Charlie Appleby-trained charge was able to win a previous encounter against five other runners. At Yarmouth on 22 May, the horse was able to triumph by just over a length, obliging as the 11/10 favourite over six furlongs and there could be more to come from this runner.
Joseph O’Brien could also have a lively contender in the form of Cadogan, with the two-year-old having finished second at the Curragh on 25 May when running in a six furlong maiden encounter. There was only a short head separating favourite Henri Matisse from the horse and this could be a good each-way shout.
2023 Chesham Stakes Tips
There could be money for Golden Mind when it comes to this Day Five opener at the 2023 Royal Ascot meeting, with Richard Fahey saddling a runner who was successful last time out. A maiden stakes victory over six furlongs at Leicester Racecourse was achieved by a neck in a field of ten runners and there could be more to come over a longer distance.
La Guarida has strong claims for Richard Hannon, with the runner having obliged at Goodwood in a previous outing. Sent off at betting odds of 7/1, the horse was not expected to trouble favourite Indispensable although a victory by over two lengths means that the runner is now among the favourites to win the 2023 Chesham Stakes.
Aidan O’Brien will be confident of some lively performances from his stable crew and that includes Buttons who has recorded one victory from one run thus far. Sent off as the 4/6 favourite in a fillies’ maiden at Leopardstown, the runner was able to score over seven furlongs and there could be more success this time around.
Pearls And Rubies has also recorded one from one thus far, with a 3/1 success being achieved over five furlongs when winning on good ground. Content was third in a first outing and that was in the same race as Buttons, although there wasn’t much separating the two stablemates and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the form reversed.
