2026 CAA Stellar Handicap Betting Tips
Let's start with Arklow Lad who could be a strong contender for the CAA Stellar Handicap. The four-year-old was strong on the all-weather at Chelmsford back in February, with the 11/10 favourite landing the spoils before a third-placed finish at Wolverhampton. More recently, we were taken with a victory at Pontefract when obliging at 15/2 over five furlongs.
Seven Questions has had a third and sixth-placed finish this season. Robert Cowell trains a five-year-old who looks to be sent off a favourable weight. There was a third-placed finish out of thirteen at Pontefract, with the horse only two lengths behind Arklow Lad. After this, there was a sixth-placed effort at Ripon when the 15/8 favourite fell short.
Stratusnine is a four-year-old with plenty of potential, with Hugo Palmer saddling a runner who has exclusively been performing on the all-weather in recent times. Having unseated his rider at Lingfield at the end of January, there was a fifth-placed effort at Kempton before a more improved performance at Newcastle which saw the horse finish second.
Copper Knight and Manila Scouse could both deliver a success for Tim Easterby. The former is a twelve-year-old who finished second on a seasonal debut and could be favourably weighted. The latter is younger at the age of seven who has posted successive fourth-placed finishes at Ripon and Leicester leading into this encounter.
2025 Chester Stellar Betting Tips
Dickieburd might not have registered a recent victory, although the Stellar Handicap is a race where the horse might prosper. The five-year-old was sixth on his seasonal debut when finishing second last at Beverley, although we were taken by the horse’s performance at York in early September when finishing second out of eighteen runners.
Perhaps Balmoral Lady is a stronger contender, with the horse landing three consecutive wins last season. The four-year-old finished second at Doncaster in November, with this coming after a spate of wins at Bath, Windsor and Yarmouth. The performance in the Wentworth Stakes was a fine effort at odds of 28/1.
Dream Composer caught our eye considering that the seven-year-old was the runner-up on his seasonal debut. The horse was smart at Pontefract although all his best form has come at the Yorkshire track and it will be interesting to see how he copes with a sharper track at Chester where some horses fail to make an impression.
Fair Wind could also go well at a decent price. Owen Burrows trains a five-year-old who refused to race at Goodwood last time out which is clearly a concern. That came after an excellent victory at Ascot where the 17/2 shot was able to oblige last July when scoring by half a length over five furlongs on good ground.
