2024 Irish Oaks Tips
Port Fairy has been installed as favourite to win the Irish Oaks, with the three-year-old having won at Ascot last time out. The 12/1 shot was able to claim a victory in the Ribblesdale Stakes, with the filly landing the spoils by a neck when competing over one mile and four furlongs, with this coming after a solid performance at Chester.
Lope De Lilas was able to win last time out, with the filly securing a win at Leopardstown when obliging over one mile and two furlongs. It was a comfortable enough victory although the horse has less experience than some of the other runners in the field. Dare To Dream could be capable of a strong showing and Gavin Hernon saddles a lively runner.
Last time out, the horse finished fifth out of a field of fourteen at Chantilly, with the runner sent off at odds of 26/1 before running well in the Prix de Diane Longines. That was over one mile, two and a half furlongs, with the runner performing solidly in the St Mark's Basilica Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp.
Ejaabiyah has the potential to win the Irish Oaks and there was plenty to like about a victory in a novice stakes race at Salisbury. War Chimes was a standout performer in the Betfred Oaks when finishing third at betting odds of 50/1. This came after running well in a competitive encounter at Longchamp, with each-way claims definitely on the cards.
2023 Irish Oaks Tips
Savethelastdance has had a stellar season, with victories coming at Leopardstown and Chester before a second placed finish at Epsom. Despite being sent off as the 5/6 favourite in the Epsom Oaks, the horse fell short against eventual winner Soul Sister, although the bookies still think that the runner has the best chance of victory.
Previously to this race, there was a win in the Cheshire Oaks at the Roodee, with an outstanding twenty-two length victory on that occasion. However, Warm Heart has been a three-time consecutive winner recently, with the latest of these coming in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal Ascot meeting.
Aidan O’Brien saw his charge sent off at odds of 13/2 before triumphing over one mile and four furlongs, with this coming by two and a half lengths. The horse that ran into second place was Lumiere Rock and the Joseph O’Brien-trained runner could be a good each-way shout on this occasion.
Bluestocking is also trading among the favourites, with Ralph Beckett training a runner who was third in the Ribblesdale Stakes last time out. It wasn’t the most clear run from the horse on that occasion, with the runner previously finishing in second behind Warm Heart in the Haras De Bouquetot Fillies' Trial Stakes at Newbury Racecourse.
