2023 Moyglare Stud Stakes Tips
Ylang Ylang hasn’t put a foot wrong in her fledging career to date, with the filly actually tipped to perform well in next year’s 1000 Guineas. At the end of June, the mare made her professional bow at the Curragh where the Aidan O’Brien-trained runner obliged as the 8/13 favourite over seven furlongs on good ground.
Better was to follow at Leopardstown when the two-year-old was able to triumph in the Group Three Jockey Club Of Turkey Silver Flash Stakes, although it was interesting that the filly was only able to beat Vespertilio by one and a half lengths, with the latter lining up in this race and having the potential to frank the form.
After that performance at Leopardstown, the runner was able to land the spoils when winning the Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes at the Curragh, with this being a fairly comfortable win and many punters will be keen to pursue an each-way wager on the runner rather than tackle the favourite at short odds.
Porta Fortuna isn’t easy to discount and there was a consecutive hat-trick of wins for the two-year-old at the Curragh, Naas and Ascot before finishing second in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes in Ireland. The win in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot means that the horse could be cut out for a big run when it comes to this showdown at the weekend.
