2025 Breeders Cup Mile Betting Odds at Del Mar racecourse

Saturday, 01 November 2025

There’s a big money race at Del Mar in the form of the Breeders’ Cup Mile, with Porta Fortuna, Notable Speech and Ramatuelle all trading at similar odds to land a victory. Charyn and Carl Spackler are others for the shortlist, with the runners and riders aiming to land their share of a purse which is around $2,000,000.

It will be interesting to see which horse is backed the most, with the bookies struggling to split the leading contenders. Two of the last three renewals have been won by five-year-olds and all eyes will be on Godolphin charge Notable Speech who has the ability to deliver once again for connections who have that winning feeling in this race.

2024 Breeders Cup Mile Tips

Notable Speech is among the favourites to win the Breeders’ Cup Mile and it can’t be ignored that Godolphin have landed a triple success in this race over the past three years. However, the three-year-old will have to improve on his previous outing which was a fifth-placed finish out of seven runners in the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp.

Previously to this came a success in the Qatar Sussex Stakes, with the three-year-old claiming a victory at odds of 3/1, with the horse triumphing by one and a half lengths. However, it’s Porta Fortuna who is trading at a similar price and he has secured three consecutive wins this season.

Donnacha O’Brien was able to score at Leopardstown in mid-September, with the 5/4 favourite winning by a length in the Group 1 Matron Stakes, with the horse previously impressive when landing the spoils in the Falmouth Stakes. Sent off as the 10/11 favourite, there was a victory by nearly four lengths.

Ramatuelle was able to land a victory last time out when securing a win at Longchamp in early October, with Kinross beaten by three lengths. It was a solid performance in the Qatar Prix de la Foret, with the horse previously finishing third in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot when following home Porta Fortuna by two and a half lengths.

We’re counting down the days until the Breeders’ Cup Mile, with this forming part of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and it’s a renewal which is run over the distance of exactly one mile.

However, rather than some of the others that are run on dirt, this encounter is run on turf, with the purse currently standing at $2 million and that means that this heat attracts star quality from all over the world.

Goldikova remains the most successful horse when it comes to the Breeders’ Cup Mile, with the runner having obliged on three occasions between 2008-2010, while Expert Eye was the winner in 2018.

Can Bricks And Mortar Be an American Winner?

American hopes of a winner in the Breeders’ Cup Mile could rest with Bricks And Mortar who is currently trading at odds of 4/1. The horse won at Arlington Park in August and there was plenty to like about a victory which saw the runner win the Arlington Million XXXVII Stakes.

This was a Grade 1 victory and trainer Chad C Brown will now be eyeing more glory for a runner that appears to have hit his peak at the age of 5. It was previously enjoying a long lay-off following spring victories at Belmont Park and Churchill Downs.

However, there appears to be an exciting British raider in the form of Circus Maximus and he certainly looks like a young pretender to the crown. The three-year-old has been making waves in England and looks set to run a big race if he makes it to America this autumn.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained charge won at Longchamp recently when fending off Romanised to win the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and this Group 1 victory over one mile will have filled connections with confidence that the horse can deliver in a Breeders’ Cup setting.

The horse was also a winner at Royal Ascot when winning the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes and perhaps he can cause some problems for Bricks And Mortar who has thus far been running against native American runners.
