2025 Morebattle Handicap Hurdle Betting Odds at Kelso racecourse

Saturday, 01 March 2025

The bet365 Morebattle Hurdle will be run over two miles on Saturday 1 March, with lots of potential winners when it comes to this race. Joyeuese was a recent winner and could be the horse to beat, with Nicky Henderson saddling a six-year-old who could be jostling out with McLaurey who has racked up consecutive wins coming into this encounter.

There’s then a jump in the betting, with Favour And Fortune running for Alan King and there have been some promising displays this term, while Emmet Mullins saddles Vischio and there has been successive wins for the eight-year-old. There’s also Joyeux Machin and Tellherthename who are attractive each-way prices.

2025 Morebattle Hurdle Tips

We’re looking forward to the bet365 Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso Racecourse, with Joyeuse having been in the winners’ enclosure last time out. The six-year-old was impressive when scoring at Newbury a few weeks ago, with an eight-length success being enjoyed. Back in December, there was also a smart performance at Cheltenham.

McLaurey has also got solid credentials, with Emmet Mullins saddling a runner who has secured back to back successes. The latest success came at Leopardstown in the Dublin Racing Festival in a two-mile handicap hurdle, with this coming after a December success at Limerick and the horse also hit the frame at Punchestown that month.

Favour And Fortune has run twice this season, with the latest effort coming at Newbury where the Alan King-trained charge finished eleven and a half lengths behind Joyeuse. Previously to this, there was a solid showing at Ascot, with the horse needing to find some improvement if the runner can overhaul the market leaders.

Vischio is definitely worth a second look considering the runner has racked up successive victories. The eight-year-old succeeded by five lengths at the Dublin Racing Festival, with this coming in the Mares Handicap Hurdle. That was over two miles and two furlongs, with a previous success coming at Punchestown and there might be each-way value.

2024 Morebattle Hurdle Tips

Under Control is yet to win this season, although the bookies are impressed enough by a recent runner-up appearance to make the horse favourite to claim a victory in the bet365 Morebattle Hurdle. Nicky Henderson will hope to land the spoils for owner JP McManus and the five-year-old was last seen finishing second Ashroe Diamond.

That run came after having wind surgery, with Black Hawk Eagle having enjoyed back to back successes and perhaps the ten-year-old can benefit from carrying less weight than the favourite, with a mark of 10-11 meaning that the bookies are full of respect for a runner who has scored victories at Huntingdon and Wincanton.

Brucio has also been in the winners’ enclosure on the past two outings and looks set to be among the leading pretenders here. A field of nineteen runners competed at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown before this horse was able to land a victory and there was a triumph by six lengths.

Skycutter and Benson come next in the betting, with the former having been successful on his last outing. Against ten other rivals, the horse came out on top in a race at Carlisle where the horse was able to land a five-length victory. Dan Skelton will hope that his six-year-old can perform well when it comes to this encounter.
