2026 AW Fillies and Mares Betting Odds at Newcastle racecourse

Friday, 03 April 2026

There are several horses trading at single figure betting odds when it comes to the Fillies' And Mares' Championships, with Nine Tenths running for trainer William Haggas and the bookies regard her as the one to beat. However, Shades Of Summer comes into the encounter with some strong form and the five-year-old is bidding for a fourth consecutive win.

Cloud Cover and Wild Side come next in the betting, with Aramis Grey another one to be respected and many of these horse have collected victories this season. Just A Spark is among them and Sibyl Charm has also finished first and second in previous showings which suggests a strong performance could be on the cards.

2024 Fillies' And Mares' Championships Tips

Nine Tenths has a strong record ahead of the Fillies' And Mares' Championships, with the four-year-old having triumphed last time out. The horse was previously successful at Wolverhampton where Misty Grey and four other runners were beaten and that came after a second-placed finish at Lingfield Park.

Shades Of Summer was able to record back to back victories and the Jane Chapple-Hyam-trained runner has plenty to recommend her. The five-year-old won at Lingfield Park at the beginning of March, with this coming after a New Year’s Day success where Nine Tenths was beaten into second and the pair clash once again here.

Cloud Cover runs for James Tate and was successful in a January outing on the all-weather at Kempton Park Racecourse, with the horse subsequently being underwhelming as the 2/1 favourite over seven furlongs at Lingfield at the beginning of March. Can the horse find an improvement of two and a half lengths against Shades of Summer?

Wild Side is trained by George Boughey and the four-year-old finished third last time out, with the horse posting a solid performance to claim third spot before a triumph at Southwell in December. There is sure to be price boosts available for this race, with Aramis Grey also among the front runners.
