2023 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes Tips
Zoulu Chief has the potential to outclass the field when it comes to the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, with Heather Main training a charge who has landed successive wins. After performing well as a 33/1 shot in an Irish Nursery Handicap at Goodwood, the horse then obliged at 28/1 at Windsor in the middle of August.
Better was to follow at York when the bookmakers started to respect the horse’s chances more and Zoulu Chief was able to oblige with a victory at 15/2. That was over six furlongs on good to firm ground, with the horse likely to have softer conditions with which to contend when it comes to this upcoming race.
Woodhay Wonder has collected two wins for trainer Tom Ward this season and the latest of these was in the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes at the end of August, demonstrating that the two-year-old can perform well at Newmarket. The filly was also successful when running at Newbury at the end of June.
Beyond the first two in the betting, the rest of the field are all trading at double figure odds. Lambert could go well for trainer George Boughey and has racked up three wins this season, with the horse quickly returning to the track after a recent third-placed finish at Newmarket. The horse ran out of stamina over a mile but might be suited to the shorter trip.
