2024 Arkansas Derby Tips

Timberlake could be the value pick when it comes to the Arkansas Derby, with the horse returning to Oaklawn Park after previously recording a notable victory. In the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes, the runner was sent off as the 4/5 favourite before notching a success when finishing two lengths clear of outsider Common Defense.

Previously to this came a fourth-placed finish behind Fierceness in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, with the horse eight lengths off the pace on that occasion. He has one of the highest ratings in the field, although the same applies to Muth who could go off as favourite for this encounter.

Bob Baffert trains a three-year-old who was in the winners’ enclosure last time out, with the horse able to beat five other rivals at Santa Anita. Sent off as strong favourite to win the San Vicente Stakes, the runner was able to command a three-length success and the horse was previously second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile race.

Mystik Dan is next in the betting and the Kenneth McPeek-trained runner has to stand a chance when it comes to this one mile, one furlong encounter. Last time out at Oaklawn Park, there was a victory in the Southwest Stakes on a muddy surface, with the runner looking like the best each-way pick.
