2025 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Tips
The Queen Elizabeth Stakes is always a highlight of the ATC Championships series, with some high quality entrants battling it out over 2,000 metres. The current betting market suggests that Via Sistina has a greater than 50% chance of winning, with the Chris Waller-trained charge operating at odds-on. His last success came at Rosehill a few days ago.
That was a facile success at heavy odds-on in the Ranvet Stakes, with James McDonald giving the charge a solid ride. Previously to this was a victory in the Verry Elleegant Stakes at Randwick, although the odds-on favourite was only able to triumph by a neck on that occasion. There’s also the fact that the horse was beaten in the Apollo Stakes at Randwick.
Dubai Honour was successful in this race two years ago and he was recently in the winners’ enclosure when scoring at Rosehill in the beginning of April. The 11/5 shot was able to land the spoils in the Kia Tancred Stakes over one mile and four furlongs on the soft. This came after a solid second place in the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin.
The winner of two years ago has a solid chance of landing a win, with Ceolwulf being an interesting contender who was able to score at Rosehill recently. The four-year-old clearly has the scope to improve and there was plenty to like about the performance in the Sellwood Stakes over one mile and two furlongs.
2024 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Tips
Via Sistina could be the horse that they all have to beat when it comes to the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, with the Chris Waller-trained runner having produced a series of impressive performances to date. The horse was last seen recording a victory at Rosehill in the Ranvet Stakes when obliging as the 13/10 favourite.
That was a Group One encounter where the runner was able to claim the spoils over one mile and two furlongs. Previously to this was a second placed finish in the Champion Stakes at Ascot when running home behind favourite King Of Steel, with that coming after a second-placed finish in the Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet.
Pride Of Jenni could certainly put up some stubborn resistance, with the horse last seen finishing second at Flemington. Losing by a neck to Cascadian was a solid performance and this came after a victory at Caulfield when fending off the challenge of Mr Brightside. Previously to this, the same horse had claimed a victory.
Cascadian and Mr Brightside come next in the betting and they are certainly capable of making an impression over this distance. There could be merit in taking them against the two favourites, especially if you’re looking to bet each-way on this encounter. It will be interesting to see how the odds shape up for this heat.
