2024 bet365 Gold Cup Betting Odds at Sandown Park racecourse

We need a horse with bags of stamina when it comes to the bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase, with Kitty’s Light demonstrating a strong performance when performing well in the recent Grand National. A fifth-placed finish means that the bookmakers have installed the horse as warm favourite to land a victory here.

However, Threeunderthrufive could go well for trainer Paul Nicholls and the horse hasn’t been out of the first two in his three appearances this season. There’s also Nick Rockett running for Willie Mullins, with Amirite and Minella Cocooner having lively chances in a long-distance race which should be entertaining.

2024 bet365 Gold Cup Tips

We’ve got a Welsh horse at the head of the betting market when it comes to the bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase, with Kitty’s Light standing a decent chance of following up that solid performance in the Grand National with a victory here. The horse finished fifth at Aintree and looked to have a decent chance of winning the race.

Much will depend on whether the horse has sufficiently recovered from that encounter, with Threeunderthrufive returning to the track after a longer absence and the nine-year-old also has the potential to go well. The horse is carrying more weight than the favourite although there was a win at Ascot in February which bodes well for this encounter.

Nick Rockett is a talented seven-year-old running for trainer Willie Mullins, with the horse last seen finishing seventh in the Irish Grand National. Sent off as the 4/1 favourite on that occasion, the horse performed fairly solidly over three miles and five furlongs on heavy ground. There were previously eye-catching displays at Navan and Fairyhouse.

Amirite has the potential to go well for handler Henry de Bromhead, with the eight-year-old having last been seen finishing fifth out of twenty-seven horses at Leopardstown during the festive season. That was over three miles on soft ground, although the runner could be suited to a longer trip and this will be in evidence on Saturday.

2023 bet365 Gold Cup Tips

Christian Williams saddled Kitty’s Light to a success in the 2023 Scottish Grand National last weekend and the horse might make a swift return to the track to compete in the bet365 Gold Cup. It remains to be seen whether the runner will have been able to recover in time to produce a strong performance although the seven-year-old can’t be discounted.

The horse was able to secure a three-length win over four miles when being sent off as the 4/1 joint-favourite, with this coming after a handicap chase victory at Newcastle, with Revels Hill next in the market and Harry Fry certainly has a talented prospect on his hands. The eight-year-old has been knocking on the door a lot this season.

This horse was last seen running at Exeter towards the end of March, with the 3/1 favourite beaten into second by Coolvalla over three miles, six and a half furlongs, although the horse also ran well in a handicap chase at Ascot in a large field and it would come as no surprise to see this runner make the frame once again.

Annsam has displayed some impressive form and the latest success came at Ludlow in a seven-runner race. That was a two length win in early April and there was previously a success in mid January at Kempton which means the horse has serious credentials. That win came by seventeen lengths although the handicapper has had his way since then.
