2025 Classic Trial Betting Odds at Sandown Park racecourse

Friday, 25 April 2025

Friday’s card at Sandown Park looks really attractive, with Windlord potentially the one to beat over one mile and two furlongs. Andrew Balding trains a three-year-old who has landed a victory although this is the only win achieved in the space of four outings. I Am I Said is a more lightly-raced runner who has achieved a victory in the only run.

Swagman was second out of five runners last time out and it was a solid effort at Leopardstown at betting odds of 8/1. That came after a July success at Naas, with Aidan O’Brien’s charge trading at a similar price to Damysus. Then there’s a big jump in the prices with Sir Dinadin and Devil’s Advocate having a solid chance of a win.

2025 Bet365 Trial Tips

There are eight horses entered for the bet365 Classic Trial, with Windlord installed as the market leader. Andrew Balding trains a runner who can certainly be in the final shake-up based on previous showings. There was a decent outing at The Curragh at the end of September when the horse was able to finish third out of five runners in Ireland.

I Am I Said was also successful in a previous outing. Ralph Beckett saw an impressive debut appearance, with that coming at Newmarket in October. Sent off at 20/1, the horse won by over four lengths and there’s no reason why there won’t be a considerable improvement. However, some punters want to go for a more experienced contender.

Swagman has been able to record a number of outings, with Aidan O’Brien saddling a horse to finish second out of five runners last time out. The horse was sent off at 8/1 before performing well and that came after a July win at Naas racecourse. There was also a solid showing at The Curragh Racecourse in the first outing and it could be a good each-way shout.

Damysus has the backing of John & Thady Gosden which means we could end up seeing the runner prove successful. The horse was last seen running at Southwell on the all-weather back in December. There was a success over seven furlongs where the 8/11 favourite was able to oblige although the charge is still relatively untested.

Arabian Crown looks the likely winner of the bet365 Classic Trial and he will be bidding for a fourth successive victory when lining up at Sandown Park. Charlie Appleby saddles a runner who was triumphant at Newmarket when running in the Zetland Stakes last October when fending off the challenge of three other horses.

Previously to this came a victory at Salisbury Racecourse when the horse claimed a win at Salisbury against six other runners, with this coming after a success at Sandown in July. However, there are some viable contenders to go up against this three-year-old and that includes Macduff who finished fourth out of nine runners last time out.

Sent off at odds of 12/1 in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, the runner acquitted himself well over a mile when losing to Ghostwriter, Al Musmak and Capulet, with the horse previously running into second place behind Al Musmak in a one mile encounter at Haydock Park after previously winning at Newmarket.

War Rooms is trained by Owen Burrows and the horse finished third out of nine runners when turning out at Doncaster in the Betfred Flying Scotsman Stakes, with the charge sent off as the 2/1 favourite on that occasion. Previously to this came a Novice Stakes triumph at Doncaster Racecourse towards the end of July.

2023 bet365 Classic Trial Tips

Arrest could be all the rage for the bet365 Classic Trial, with the three-year-old having been impressive thus far and there have been two victories to date. The first of these came at Sandown in early August, with a Maiden Stakes success coming over one mile on good to firm ground, while it was simple enough to win at Ffos Las.

Then came a tougher encounter at Saint-Cloud when the charge ran in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud and the 23/10 favourite was touched off by a head. That was over one mile and two furlongs on heavy ground and perhaps Arrest will be better suited to firmer ground, although there is Flying Honours who has to be respected for this race.

The Godolphin horse was successful on three occasions last season and Charlie Appleby saddled the charge to victory in the Zetland Stakes in early October when sent off as the 10/11 favourite. William Buick will once again be on board a horse who did suffer a blip when losing as the big odds-on favourite in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes.

Continuous has won both of his races so far during a fledgling season, with the three-year-old having scored at The Curragh and Saint-Cloud last term. The former success was in a maiden over seven furlongs, while the latter was achieved in the Prix Thomas Bryon Jockey Club de Turquie when the horse was sent off as the 2/1 favourite.
