2026 Belmont Stakes Betting Tips
Renegade has produced a series of encouraging performances since October. There were runner-up efforts at Belmont At The Big A and Aqueduct, with this being followed by consecutive victories. The first of these wins happened in the Sam F. Davis Stakes where the 6/5 favourite was able to oblige by nearly four lengths over one mile, half a furlong.
Then came the Arkansas Derby. This Grade One encounter saw Renegade sent off as the even money favourite before being able to oblige by four lengths. It was a super effort over a mile and a furlong before that Kentucky Derby runner-up spot. At odds of 56/10, the horse recovered from being badly hampered at the start to nearly land the spoils.
The horse was just held off by Golden Tempo and the latter will be out to prove that was no fluke to land another Triple Crown success. Cherie deVaux trains a horse who was a big outsider for the Kentucky Derby before delivering at odds of 231/10. That came after more modest efforts at Fair Grounds where third-placed efforts were managed on both occasions.
Chief Wallabee runs for William Mott, with the horse having finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby. The runner was only three lengths off the pace over one mile and two furlongs, with that coming after a brave effort at Gulfstream Park. The horse was beaten by Commandment on that occasion and it was the same charge that beat him previously.
