2024 Lincoln Trial Handicap Tips
There are some intriguing horse races at Wolverhampton on Saturday and that includes the BetMGM Lincoln Trial Handicap where we’ll see a maximum of thirteen runners lining up over one mile, half a furlong. Greatgadian is a six-year-old who currently heads the market and the Roger Varian-trained horse could be well-weighted for this encounter.
The horse has plenty of experience when it comes to racing on the all-weather, with a second placed finish coming out of thirteen runners at Newcastle Racecourse at the beginning of March. This came after a disappointing showing at Kempton, while the same horse was able to finish third out of thirteen horses at Southwell in a previous showing.
Final Voyage was successful for trainer Jonny Murtagh on his last outing, with the six-year-old able to score with a win last time out. Very recently, we saw the horse claim a victory on the all-weather at Dundalk, with the runner claiming a handicap success over one mile and there are definitely solid each-way claims for this charge.
King’s Code is bidding for a third successive win after emerging victorious at Southwell and Kempton in two consecutive races. There was a short head triumph in the former back in January, with David Evans saddling a charge who was able to score at Kempton in the middle of February and there could be more to come here.
2023 Lincoln Trial Handicap Betting Tips
The 2023 Lincoln Trial Handicap looks like a quality betting race and Totally Charming is the horse that heads the market, with George Boughey looking forward to his charge lining up in a race which seems well-suited in terms of distance. The last run for this horse was on 22 October when the runner triumphed in the Scott Dobson Memorial Handicap at Doncaster.
Ryan Moore was on board on that occasion for the win in Yorkshire, with William Buick booked to ride a charge who finished well down the order in the Cambridgeshire in his previous race, although there was a nice win in the World Pool Handicap at Epsom back in June as part of the Derby meeting and that puts him in a good light.
Unforgotten is bidding to continue his winning run, with the horse having scored on the all-weather at Lingfield Park on 17 February. Having been sent off as the 5/6 favourite in the one mile handicap encounter, there was a victory by half a length and this came after a similar type of win at the same course a few weeks previously.
Notre Belle Bete produced a reasonable performance when finishing second to Outbreak in a recent handicap race at Lingfield, with the latter also set to line up for this clash at Wolverhampton Racecourse and he looks an interesting each-way price. There could be more to come from a progressive four-year-old and trainer Charlie Johnston will have high hopes.
