2024 Lowther Stakes Betting Odds at York racecourse

Thursday, 22 August 2024

The Sky Bet Lowther Stakes takes place on Thursday 22 August, with Leovanni having won the past two outings and he has been installed as the warm favourite to win this Group 2 encounter. However, Heavens Gate has racked up a couple of wins this season and the two-year-old should also be considered as a viable winner.

Celandine has also been in the winners enclosure this season and the Ed Walker-trained runner can’t be easily ruled out, while Miss Lamai was successful last time out and the Karl Burke-trained filly could also be a prominent performer. Time For Sandals and Tales Of The Heart are other runners for the shortlist.

2024 Sky Bet Lowther Stakes Tips

Leovanni has been an impressive performer this season, with Karl Burke training a runner who has racked up consecutive wins this term. The two-year-old was able to oblige at Royal Ascot in the previous encounter when obliging in the Queen Mary Stakes as a 22/1 shot, with this coming over five furlongs and this came after a victory at Nottingham.

There’s plenty to like about Heavens Gate, with Aidan O’Brien saddling a runner who has won two of the past five outings. In early August, there was a triumph at Naas when the 4/6 favourite was able to see off a big field, although the horse was made to work hard for a victory by just over a length.

Celandine runs for Ed Walker and the two-year-old was able to land fourth place out of fifteen runners in the competitive Molecomb Stakes. In a Group 3 contest, the horse lost by just over two lengths, with third place coming in the Prix Robert Papin over six furlongs at Chantilly in a competitive six furlong encounter.

Miss Lamai can’t be easily ruled out and the filly was in the winners enclosure last time out. Nine other runners were fended off at Naas, with this coming after a fourth-placed finish out of twenty-four runners at Royal Ascot. This was in the Queen Mary Stakes, the same as the race that was won by Leovanni.

2023 Lowther Stakes Tips

Ylang Ylang is an Irish raider who heads the betting market for the 2023 Sky Bet Lowther Stakes and there is lots to like about the two-year-old who has registered wins at the Curragh and Leopardstown. There was a win over seven furlongs in the Kildare House Hotel Irish EBF Fillies Maiden before a triumph in the Jockey Club Of Turkey Silver Flash Stakes.

The horse was sent off as the 1/4 favourite for that particular encounter and this is a much tougher assignment, with Relief Rally sure to offer a stern challenge. William Haggas saw his runner oblige in a big field of runners when winning the Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes when the even money favourite claimed a win over five furlongs.

Previously to this, the horse finished second to Crimson Advocate in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, with the runner having previously claimed wins at Salisbury and Windsor. Porta Fortuna also has striking form when obliging with three successive wins and the latest of these came in the Albany Stakes over six furlongs.

Pearls And Rubies hasn’t been out of the top two in three outings this season, although the horse was sent off as the 10/11 favourite last time out in the Jebel Ali Racecourse And Stables Anglesey Stakes. Beaten by just over a length by Kairyu means that punters might tread carefully when it comes to a horse who lost the Chesham Stakes by a head.

2022 Sky Bet Lowther Stakes Tips

It’s often unpredictable betting on a horse race that involves two-year-olds considering that there could be some horses lurking near the bottom of the order who have the potential to produce a brilliant performance. However, Dramatised has set the benchmark and she’s the bookmaker favourite to win the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes.

The two-year-old was sent off as the 9/4 favourite in the EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket on 29 April 2022, with the horse achieving a four-length victory when being given a great ride by jockey Danny Tudhope. There was then a victory at the 2022 Royal Ascot meeting which heralded a bright future.

Dramatised was able to win the Queen Mary Stakes and it was a fairly convincing win over five furlongs and it was a victory by nearly two lengths, with Meditate boasting a similar record and potentially having the advantage of three races compared to her opponents’ two.

Ryan Moore is likely to be on board and the crack jockey was riding when the horse won the Albany Stakes, with the runner enjoying a victory of nearly two lengths over Mawj, with this being on good to firm ground at Royal Ascot over six furlongs.

Mawj will once again line up for this horse race and she has subsequently gone on to win the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes when jockey Ray Dawson was able to give her a tremendous spin to beat race favourite Lezoo.
