2026 Middleton Stakes Betting Odds at York racecourse

Thursday, 14 May 2026

Andrew Balding will be confident of saddling the winner in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Middleton Fillies' Stakes considering that he has See The Fire in the race. The five-year-old produced a bright performance on a seasonal debut, with the money coming for the market leader and we're not sure if anything in the field is able to beat it.

However, Diamond Rain has experienced that winning feeling on more than one occasion. Charlie Appleby saddles a five-year-old who began the campaign with successive victories. Fallen Angel has also been capable of triumphing and operates at a backable each-way price. The same applies to Kalpana who boasts solid credentials.

2026 Middleton Fillies' Stakes Betting Tips

Aside from the two big outsiders in the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Middleton Fillies' Stakes, there are six other runners more than capable of landing a victory here. See The Fire is at the head of the market and we enjoyed a Nottingham success at the end of April. This came after a solid effort in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf despite never being in contention.

Back in October, we saw the filly produce an excellent display at Longchamp when finishing runner-up in the Prix de l'Opera Longines. This was a Group One affair where the horse was only a short neck away from succeeding. There was also a fourth-placed effort in the Juddmonte International Stakes at the Knavesmire last August.

Diamond Rain returns for a seasonal debut and the Godolphin horse has serious credentials. The latest effort was a third-placed finish at Del Mar in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, with this coming after a second-placed effort at Woodbine when running home behind favourite She Feels Pretty. There was also a June success on the all-weather at Newcastle.

Fallen Angel was a serial winner last season and the horse began her success at Deauville in August. The runner produced the goods in the Prix Rothschild when fending off favourite January, with this being followed by a Matron Stakes victory at Leopardstown in the middle of September. There was also a win in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket which has to be respected.

2025 Middleton Fillies' Stakes Betting Tips

There are twelve runners set to line up in the Middleton Fillies' Stakes, with over half of the field having a decent chance of landing a victory. Kalpana has done enough to cement her place as the betting favourite to win. Over one mile, two and a half furlongs, the horse should go well and Andrew Balding will be confident that his charge can perform well.

Last time out, the horse obliged as the favourite to win at Ascot in October, landing a two-length success in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes. That was a notable success, with the runner having won at Kempton on the all-weather before this. There was also a July triumph at Hamilton last July and the horse will be bidding for a fourth straight win.

See The Fire finished fifth last time out, with Andrew Balding training a horse that couldn’t oblige as favourite in the Gordon Richards Stakes, with the filly weakening in the dying embers of that encounter. There was a victory at York back in August, with that success coming in the Group 3 Strensall Stakes over one mile and one furlong.

Nakheel was successful at Doncaster back in September, with the horse winning the Betfred Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes. The four-year-old performed well over one mile, six and a half furlongs, with the runner previously landing third place in the Galtres Stakes over one mile and four furlongs, with solid efforts coming at Goodwood and Newmarket.
