2024 Rockingham Stakes Betting Odds at York racecourse

Saturday, 12 October 2024

There’s a big field set to line up for the Coral Rockingham Stakes where the runners and riders will battle it out over six furlongs. We’re excited to see how the action unfolds at York Racecourse, with Diego Ventura having secured two wins before finishing runner-up last time out. Midnight Thunder will be bidding to land a third consecutive triumph.

Saeed bin Suroor will hope that his two-year-old can land another victory, with Defence Minister having been in the winners enclosure twice this season. First Instinct has landed two wins and could be worth considering from an each-way point-of-view, with Fast Track Harry having been successful on his debut.

2024 Coral Rockingham Stakes Tips

Diego Ventura heads the betting market for the Coral Rockingham Stakes, with the horse likely to go off favourite for this six furlong encounter. Hamad Al Jehani saddles a runner who has the highest rating in the field, with the two-year-old finishing second at Newmarket last time out after recording successes at Naas and Ascot.

Midnight Thunder has been going from strength to strength in each of his three races thus far, with Saeed bin Suroor having landed a victory at Yarmouth when beating twelve rivals after previously succeeding at Windsor. There’s plenty to recommend a horse who has performed well over six furlongs.

Defence Minister has landed two victories in his short career thus far, with the two-year-old having scored at Newmarket and Haydock before an underwhelming performance at Newmarket when finishing dead last in the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes. However, this horse looks a backable price each-way and could be worth considering.

First Instinct has solid credentials and could perform well for William Haggas, with the two-year-old having won at Nottingham and Haydock, with the latest success coming in early September. That was by a short head in a novice stakes, with Fast Track Harry and La Bellota other horses that could be worth considering.

2023 Rockingham Stakes Tips

Elmonjed runs for trainer William Haggas and the two-year-old has secured back to back victories coming into the Rockingham Stakes. The campaign began in August when the horse was able to oblige in a Maiden Stakes at Lingfield, with the layers then paying out at odds-on when the 4/6 favourite was able to score in a six furlong Novice Stakes.

Purosangue has registered runner-up placements in three successive races, with the runner finishing second to Big Evs in the Molecomb Stakes and that was followed by another second spot in the Julia Graves Roses Stakes at York to demonstrate solid credentials, while the horse was most recently edged out by Beautiful Diamond at Ayr Racecourse.

Starlore runs in the Juddmonte colours for trainer Sir Michael Stoute, with the horse winning a Novice Stakes race at Sandown Park before finishing fourth in the Solario Stakes which was a high quality outing. Sketch was able to finish just behind Purosangue at York in August, with the horse performing well at 66/1 in the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes.

This looks like a decent each-way betting race and customers are advised to look across the top racing betting sites for price boosts. Each-way punters are clearly going to want the biggest number of places for their bets, with Esquire having won an only outing in a fledgling career, while Matters Most has two wins on the board in six races.
