2024 Esher Cup Tips
Hand Of God lines up in the Esher Cup where he will make his seasonal debut, with Harry Charlton hoping that his runner picks up where he left off. There was a success at Newmarket in October when achieving a two and a half length victory at odds of 9/1, with the trainer hoping that Ryan Moore is able to steer him to success.
Rocking Tree has achieved consecutive wins and both of these successes recently came at Wolverhampton, with the latest victory seeing the runner beat six other runners on 1 April. This came just a few weeks after a success at Wolverhampton Racecourse, with the each-way betting odds making plenty of appeal.
Cogitate was second in a previous outing and could go well for trainer Charles Hills, with Hollie Doyle on board a runner who is carrying 9-3 and there was a smart recent performance at Southwell. Strong favourite Night Raider was able to claim a victory although the runner got within five lengths in second place.
Cracking Gold has the ability to go well for Clive Cox, with the horse last seen finishing second at Kempton on the all-weather surface. There was only a neck separating the winner Havanagreattime and the favourite that day, with victories previously coming at Kempton Park and Lingfield Park in the winter.
2023 Esher Cup Tips
Local Dynasty is potentially the class horse in the bet365 Esher Cup. Charlie Appleby will hope that his runner can continue to be progressive, with the horse winning a listed race at Pontefract in the middle of October. That came after a Novice Stakes win at Sandown Park when William Buick rode the charge to a facile win over one mile on soft ground.
However, a seasonal reappearance makes this a difficult betting proposition for the favourite and Slipofthepen will put his unbeaten record on the line in this race. The John & Thady Gosden-trained runner was able to recently land a victory on the all-weather track at Kempton Park and that came after winning on the same course.
Finn’s Charm runs for trainer Charlie Johnston, with Joe Fanning on board a runner that is among the betting favourites. In the Royal Mile Cup at Musselburgh on 8 April, the horse was sent off at odds of 9/1 before running a blinder. A victory by over four lengths means that there could be more to come and this looks like a good each-way shout.
Acotango and Benacre are next in the betting, with the former running for Harry & Roger Charlton, with the horse last season winning a juvenile race on the all-weather at Kempton Park. Benacre ran fairly well at Newcastle Racecourse, with Hollie Doyle on board a horse that outran his odds of 16/1 and could be one for the shortlist.
