Words Of Truth could have too much pace for the rest of the field in the Scurry Stakes. The Godolphin horse began a career with a success at Ascot back in July and this was followed by an odds-on success at Newmarket in August. Then came the outstanding win of the horse's career so far. A win at Newbury was achieved in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes over six furlongs.
Since then, the horse has fallen short as the favourite but he might still have too much class for the opposition. On British Champions Day, the charge could only manage a third-placed finish in a two-year-old conditions stakes encounter, with that being followed by a runner-up spot at Meydan. The market leader was beaten by outsider Al Wasl Stakes but ran well over six furlongs.
Manatee Mehmas is carrying five pounds less than the favourite, with the David O'Meara-trained charge having landed a win on a debut when scoring at Doncaster in late April. The 5/6 favourite ran well and then kicked on to York to produce a solid performance. In a listed race, there was a fourth-placed effort in a field of ten horses.
Military Code returns to the track after nearly a year and there was a runner-up spot at York back in August. In the Julia Graves Roses Stakes, the horse paid the price for dwelling at the start. There was also a bump in the final furlong and the runner could be a good each-way contender. Much depends on the lengthy lay-off and whether the charge can cope.
