Racing-Odds.com is a horse racing odds comparison site. Readers use the prices and previews we publish to make betting decisions, so it matters that our data is accurate and that we are honest about how the site is funded. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to.

How we compare odds

We compare horse racing prices from bookmakers licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and for every runner we highlight the best available price. The bookmakers shown can depend on your location, so the comparison - and the best price - may differ between regions.

• Odds are provided directly by the bookmakers and refreshed continuously from the moment a market opens - not just on race day. We aim to keep prices as close to real time as data delivery allows; even so, prices move quickly, so always confirm the odds with the bookmaker before placing a bet.
• The best price is determined by the data alone. No bookmaker can pay to be ranked higher or to have its price featured.
• Ante-post markets are longer-running and more volatile than day-of-race markets. We show them as a guide, not a guarantee that a price will still be available.

Fact-checking

Editorial previews and guides are reviewed before they go live. After a writer delivers a piece, the site's publisher reads through it, and only then is it published - writers do not publish their own work unchecked.

• Where we cite a race result, date or statistic, we check it against the source data.
• Racing information can change late in the day - non-runners, going changes and rescheduled races are common. We update pages as new data arrives rather than leaving stale information in place.
• Editorial previews carry a byline and a review date so you can see who wrote a page and when it was last checked.

Corrections policy

We work hard to be accurate, but mistakes do happen. We would rather hear about an error and fix it than leave it uncorrected.

• If you spot something wrong - an incorrect price, result, date or fact - please tell us through our contact page.
• We review the reports readers send us. Once we become aware of an error, we make every effort to correct it as quickly as possible.
• We don't commit to a fixed turnaround time, but corrections are a priority - we use a combination of automated checks and human inspection to identify and fix issues.
• Where a correction is material, we note on the page that it has been updated.
• Odds that have simply moved since a page was published are not errors - betting prices change constantly, and our pages reflect the latest available data.
