2026 Dante Stakes Betting Tips
Christmas Day heads the Dubai Dante Stakes betting market and the horse is bidding to land a fourth consecutive success. The runner obliged as the 6/4 favourite at Gowran Park in September and has since gone on to win twice at Leopardstown. There was a half-length success in the Ballysax Stakes a month ago and perhaps the O'Brien-trained runner can score again.
Hawk Mountain also boasts strong credentials, with this being the stablemate of the favourite. The horse has been a winning machine since last autumn, with an August win at the Curragh being followed by a victory the following month. On heavy ground at Doncaster in October, the runner triumphed before winning recently at Chantilly.
William Haggas has Maltese Cross and the horse was successful on his seasonal reappearance. The 13/8 shot won at Newmarket towards the end of September, with a more recent triumph coming at Newbury as the 7/4 favourite. There was a victory by a neck over one mile and two furlongs, with the same handler having Morshdi lining up.
Saxon Street has landed consecutive successes for John & Thady Gosden, with an odds-on success being landed at Chelmsford back in December. That all-weather victory was followed by a win at Epsom towards the end of April. There was a two and a half length success in the Blue Riband Trial Stakes where the horse was effective over a mile and two furlongs.
2025 Dante Stakes Betting Tips
The Lion In Winter is a quality performer who has solid credentials when it comes to the Dante Stakes. Aidan O’Brien’s three-year-old returns to the track where he was last seen being successful. The horse was able to win the Tattersalls Acomb Stakes at odds of 2/1 when landing the spoils over seven furlongs.
It was a strong effort and came after winning at the Curragh, with in a maiden race in Ireland. There could be further scope from the Irish raider, with trading at a shorter price than any other horse in the field. However, Alpine Trail has to be respected and Charlie Appleby has landed a spate of wins with this Godolphin horse.
The latest success came at Newmarket in early May, with the 10/11 favourite winning by three lengths and that came at Yarmouth a month earlier. Wimbledon Hawkeye is another three-year-old with bold claims and was fifth last time out, with the 16/1 shot running well to achieve this placing out of eleven horses.
That came after a second-placed finish out of nine runners at the same course, with Pride Of Arras having won last season. Ralph Beckett saddles a horse that was able to triumph at Sandown in early August. Tuscan Hills was able to win at Pontefract back in October and that came after performing well at Thirsk.
2024 Dante Stakes Tips
Ancient Wisdom is unsurprisingly favourite to land a victory when it comes to the Dante Stakes, with Charlie Appleby training a runner who claimed four wins from five appearances to date. The latest success came at Doncaster at the end of October, with six other runners beaten over the distance of one mile.
This came after a victory at Newmarket over the same distance and it will be interesting to see how the horse fares over a longer trip. Back in July last year, the runner was third out of ten runners after previously recording successes at Haydock and Newmarket, with this proving to be an impressive strike rate.
Al Musmak has either been first or second in his previous four races, with the debut success coming at Ascot when winning a novice stakes, while the horse then achieved second place in the Pat Eddery Stakes where the charge finished ahead of Ancient Wisdom. The latest performance came in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes when finishing second.
Caviar Heights was able to secure a victory in his last outing when claiming a win against four other runners at Newmarket in early May. In the William Hill Newmarket Stakes, the horse ran well over one mile and two furlongs, with this coming after a surprise third place in the bet365 Feilden Stakes at Newmarket when sent off at 50/1.
2023 Dante Stakes Tips
Flying Honours has won three of his past four races and that explains why the horse is trading as favourite for the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes. There was a win in the Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes last October when the three-year-old triumphed by one length, with the horse obliging as the 10/11 favourite and there were previously successes at Sandown and Salisbury.
Epictetus has been running a lot more recently, with the John & Thady Gosden-trained charge having obliged in a Blue Riband Trial at Epsom Racecourse when being sent off as the 2/5 favourite. Probably more tellingly, there was a second-placed finish in the Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes over one mile on heavy ground, with the horse coping well with the conditions.
Passenger is a lightly-raced three-year-old who won on his only outing when obliging in the bet365 Wood Ditton Maiden Stakes, with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained charge having won by three lengths over the distance of one mile and there’s every chance that the horse will benefit from a longer trip such as this race.
Canberra Legend also has an unblemished record after landing a victory on the all-weather at Newcastle before claiming a more impressive win at Newmarket in April. That was in the bet365 Feilden Stakes where it looked as though the horse was going to be outpaced before finding an extra gear. However, this is a longer trip than the one mile and one furlong.
