Bet on the Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct
The Wood Memorial Stakes takes centre stage at Aqueduct Racecourse and this race has been in operation since 1925, with this being a thoroughbred race for three-year-olds which takes place over nine furlongs on the dirt track.
Since 2017, it has been run as a Grade II race after previously having Grade I status and it is regarded as a major prep race when it comes to the Road to Kentucky Derby, with a long succession of Derby winners having come from winning the Wood Memorial Stakes before triumphing here.

The Cigar Mile Handicap is named after a famous horse who ran in America called Cigar, with this runner having been inducted into the Hall of Fame and he won the race in 1994, with the race having only been introduced in 1988 and this is always an exciting renewal over the distance of eight furlongs.
Congaree is the only horse to have triumphed on two occasions, with the Carter Handicap another big race to take place on the Aqueduct race card and this is run over seven furlongs, with the first running taking place in 1895.
