Watch National Hunt and Point-to-Point
This is a left-handed track which primarily features National Hunt racing, with Bangor more recently showcasing point-to-point meetings in addition to the main track and these type of races are run right-handed rather than left-handed.
The Dee part of the name refers to the river which flows close to the racecourse and it’s also a river which cuts through the middle of the Roman city of Chester.
Enjoy Meetings in the Autumn and Winter
There are a succession of meetings which take place at Bangor, especially during the autumn when the National Hunt season is in full flow. This includes the Timeform October Meeting which is generally a midweek affair.
There is also Countryside Day which is a midweek meeting, while punters can also enjoy the Late November Meeting which tends to take place on the last Saturday of that particular month.
The Christmas Meeting is very popular due to its proximity to the festive season and this is an affordable track to go and visit, with the racecourse also playing host to weddings, conferences and other exhibitions.
Bangor Meetings in the New Year
As we go into the New Year, there are several more racing dates for the diary and that includes Heritage Day and the February Meeting which take place in the same month.
There is also a March Meeting which tends to take place just after the Cheltenham Festival, while Discovery Day and Family Funday are geared more towards those racegoers who want to bring their children racing.
There are also several meetings that take place at Bangor during the summer and this includes the Summer Meeting, Ladies Day and Family Evening.
